Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), with its proud legacy of 627 years,
stands as one of Korea’s most esteemed institutions of higher learning.
Since its reorganization as a modern university in 1946, SKKU has contributed to the prosperity and advancement of our nation, nurturing over 250,000 graduates who exemplify both intellect and character.
Within this proud tradition, our College is committed to cultivating talented individuals who contribute to the happiness of humanity and the progress of society by harmonizing cutting-edge technology with warm human values in this era of rapid change.
We do not rest on our tradition. Instead, through the dedication and passion of our students, faculty, staff, and trustees, SKKU has evolved into an institution of global competitiveness in education and research.
As a result, in 2025 we were proudly ranked 102nd in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (19th in Asia; 86th in Computer Science) and 3rd in the JoongAng-Ilbo Korea University Rankings.
Beyond rankings, our deepest pride lies in the enduring trust and satisfaction of our community. This is reflected in our being named Korea’s top private university in the National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI) for 18 consecutive years through 2024.
The College of Software Convergence stands at the forefront of innovation and challenge. We lead major national projects such as the SW-Centric University Phase II Program, the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence, and the Global Core Talent and Flagship Talent Development Programs. Through these and countless industry-academia collaborations, we bridge education and research with solutions to real-world challenges in society and industry.
From their second year, our students engage in hands-on projects and internships, learning to understand the demands of the field and shape their academic journey accordingly. Our Software Complex, completed in 2023, offers state-of-the-art facilities—including the Software Workshop, Seminar Halls (Benevolence, Righteousness, Propriety, Wisdom), Dedicated Labs (Gyeokmul, Chiji),
and a Media Gallery—where academic study and practical experience come together.
The College pursues convergence, integration, and global competitiveness.
Having evolved from the Department of Information Engineering (founded in 1982) to the School of Software (2015), and to the College of Software Convergence (2021), we now house the Department of Software, the School of Global Convergence, the Department of Intelligent Software (established in 2024), and 14 graduate programs. Over 2,300 undergraduate students,
850 graduate students, and 120 faculty members work together, transcending boundaries to learn, challenge, and grow.
People are at the heart of everything we do.
Our guiding principles—Benevolence, Righteousness, Propriety, and Wisdom (仁義禮智)—form the foundation of our education and research. We strive to nurture humble and capable leaders who respect community and others, and who combine warm hearts with sound judgment. Our mission extends beyond the delivery of knowledge: we are dedicated to fostering the empathetic, collaborative, and technically skilled leaders that our world needs today.
A university where High Tech meets High Touch, where social responsibility and innovation go hand in hand, and where we help shape a sustainable future—this is the vision we pursue at the College of Computing and Informatics.
We sincerely ask for your continued interest and support as we move forward on this journey of challenge, growth, and contribution.

The Dean of College of Computing and InformaticsLee, Eun Seok
